400 Year Old Cat Door in Exeter Cathedral, Oldest Known

This is one of the best articles from Nice News

It's still very much in use for the occasional rodent. The clock in this room was originally lubricated with lard which attracted mice and rats. It's thought the nursery rhyme Hickory, Dickory, Dock was written about this Astronomical clock that is still in operation. Installed in 1598 by Bishop William Cotton who was appointed by Queen Elizabeth I, "Paid ye carpenters 8 pence for cutting ye hole in ye north transept door for ye Bishop’s cat." Don't you love Olde English?

The Queen's Last Corgi Pups

The Queen's Corgis miss her.

Sandy and Muick were the last pups Queen Elizabeth had during her life. They were a gift from her son, Andrew, who will now take over the dogs' care. Read more about them here in an article that says they are likely aware of her death.♡🐾🐾♡

Last Photo of Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth on Sept. 6, 2022.
JANE BARLOW - WPA POOL/GETTY

I thought she looked so lovely in her Scottish plaid pleated kilt and powder blue cardigan. And now, only two days later, she is gone. This is her last photo after she met with the new Prime Minister. She truly worked as she promised, all of her long life. Photo from his article. I watched her coronation in 1952 and have admired her ever since and will miss her.

Prince Philip's Secret Pet Name for Queen Elizabeth

Here's a hint.

Yes, he called her "Cabbage". It might have originated with the French phrases "mon petit chou" which means "my little cabbage" as well as "my little pastry puff". Isn't this endearing? Read article in Town & Country with more Royal Family links.

The Washington Post has an excellent photo diary of the wonderful Life of Prince Philip with snapshots I've never seen.

Lilibet's Playhouse: Royal Birthday Gift

Princess Elizabeth’s little cottage at Royal Lodge, a gift from the people of Wales on her sixth birthday. Could anything be more wonderful? The estate is located three miles south of Windsor Castle in Windsor Great Park and has been the official residence of The Duke of York (Prince Andrew) since 2004. photo from Instagram

Since posting, I have more information. Click HERE for more perfectly delightful archival photos of the Royal Family and the history of "The Little House at Royal Lodge" called Y Bwthyn Bach.
